Life Dance: Whirling Meditation Workshop

Life Dance: Whirling Meditation Workshop

Whirling Meditation Workshop with Safa Solati

Whirling is an ancient form of active meditation – a movement practice that invites us to let go of the mind and ego, and reconnect with something greater. As we turn, the “I” slowly fades. The swirling motion becomes a mirror to the inner self.

In Sufi tradition, the dancer’s heavy skirt represents the ego. As it lifts, it symbolizes the ego’s release. Traditionally, this skirt is made of the same cloth Sufis are buried in – a reminder of the saying: "Die before you die.” This means letting go of ego and separation, and returning to unity with the universe while still in this life.

  • This workshop is perfect for those curious about the whirling journey but unsure where to begin. It’s a gentle, welcoming introduction – a chance to explore without pressure or commitment.

If you’ve been drawn to movement, meditation, or just want to try something completely new, you’re warmly welcome.

  • Every human life is a dance – between who we are and who we have the potential to become. It’s a rhythm between inner essence and the world outside us.

Life Dance is about listening to that rhythm.

Through dance, we express consciousness – our joys, our longings, our questions. Whirling is one of the oldest forms of embodied expression.

Yet today, it remains unfamiliar to many.

This workshop offers a doorway back into that tradition: a space to reconnect with our bodies, breath, emotions, and spirit.

  • Safa is a trained psychologist specializing in music psychotherapy, with a deep passion for dance as a path of healing and spiritual exploration. She has studied Persian dances for many years and, over the past six years, has devoted herself to the study and practice of Sufi whirling.

After five years in Italy, where she trained with various dance teachers, Safa returned to Finland in 2020 and began offering introductory whirling workshops in Helsinki. In 2023, she hosted Ziya Azazi – a globally renowned whirling artist who deeply inspires her – for an intensive workshop.

Safa’s unique approach centers on the therapeutic and spiritual dimensions of whirling, rather than religious tradition.

Her workshops are welcoming, inclusive, and rooted in deep respect for the inner journey.

    • Please wear comfortable clothes for movement

    • Loose skirts are ideal (Sufi skirts or flowy skirts), but any loose clothing works

    • Socks are recommended

    • Make sure you have space around you for safe movement

    • Eat light beforehand – try not to eat 2 hours prior to the workshop

    • You’re welcome to snack or drink water during the session

    • Some dizziness or nausea may arise – we’ll talk through this and offer grounding tools to support you

Go at your own pace. There’s no right or wrong – just your experience.

This is more than a dance class. It’s a moment to reconnect, realign, and remember the quiet wisdom our bodies hold.

No previous experience needed – just an open heart.

Let’s whirl, breathe, and discover – together.

In this workshop, we will explore the different paths to parenthood in your 30s, covering both natural conception and alternative options.

We’ll also discuss key lifestyle factors—such as nutrition, exercise, and stress management—that support reproductive health and bust common fertility myths, like the idea that ovulation always happens on day 14.

The circle is inclusive of women and those with female reproductive anatomy of all ages and life stages.

Beyond natural conception, we will also explore assisted reproductive technologies (ART), including when they might be needed and what options exist. Finally, we will discuss other ways to become a parent in Finland, such as adoption and how the process works.

✅ What perimenopause is and how it can impact reproductive health

Nutrition for Fertility, Pregnancy, and Postpartum

Facilitated by Freja Enholm-Kallio & Kármen Kollár

In this workshop, you’ll explore the vital role of nutrition in fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. Rather than focusing on rigid diets, we’ll help you understand which foods work best for your body and how nutrition influences your ability to conceive, maintain a healthy pregnancy, and support postpartum healing.

The circle is inclusive of women and those with female reproductive anatomy of all ages and life stages.

We’ll discuss why food matters and the effects of poor nutrition, as well as practical strategies to manage cravings, morning sickness, and common dietary challenges. Wondering what to do if you’re only craving beige foods or have unusual cravings like soil? Curious about which foods to prioritize? We’ll also cover:

✨ How to nourish your body to support a healthy menstrual cycle and improve fertility.

✨Key nutrients for balancing hormones and increasing your chances of conception.

✨Foods that may help or hinder digestion, and how certain foods can affect your baby through pregnancy and breastfeeding.

✨What to eat postpartum to replenish your body, restore strength, and optimize recovery.

Return of The Light Ceremony: Cacao Circle
Feb

Return of The Light Ceremony: Cacao Circle

Hosted by Rakas Kakaw Founder, Nicole Flora Cramer

Join us for a magical community ceremony, offering grounding & deep nourishment for mind, body & soul.

Through guided meditations, rituals & mindfulness practices, you will be led on a healing journey of self-reflection + conscious community connection.

We will begin by sharing some facts about our ethical ceremonial cacao. As we drink our cacao together, we will share Mayan wisdom passed down from indigenous teachers.

✨🕯️✨ For the Return of the Light Ceremony, we find ourselves exactly half-way between Winter Solstice & Spring Equinox.

Celebrated across cultures since ancient times, at this time of year, we truly begin to see & feel that the sun's light is returning more & more into our daily lives. Let us join together & celebrate the return of the light in CommUnity with ritual & intention.

  • Ceremonial cacao is the whole food, relatively unprocessed product deriving from the Theobroma cacao tree, native to Central + South America.

Theobroma means "food of the gods" in Latin, and cacao is an Olmec term meaning "bitter" and "water." This gentle & sacred heart-opening plant, which has been a central component in Mayan culture for thousands of years, is now hailed in the Western World as a "superfood" packed with nutrients that boost mood, ease stress + help fight disease.

The ceremonial cacao we drink in our circles is a brew made of cacao mixed with water.

In every Community Cacao Circle with Rakas Kakaw, we serve ethical single-ingredient 100% Mayan ceremonial cacao sourced exclusively from indigenous collectives in Guatemala.

  • Saturday, 01/02/2025. Circle from 4 PM to 6 PM. Please arrive at 4 PM.

Oasis Pilates & Yoga Studio (Kerttulinkatu 1a, 20500 Turku)

  • Everyone native to Planet Earth is warmly welcome in our inclusive community circles, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexuality, etc.

If you are new to ceremonial cacao that’s not a problem. During these gatherings, nothing is forced or required other than showing up with an open heart.

We follow strict safe space guidelines & ask that participants refrain from drug & alcohol use on the day of our circle.

    • MUST bring - your favorite mug for cacao; a water bottle.

    • MAYBE BRING -  A journal, if you have one & want to write some reflections there.

    • Any sacred items that you might like to charge on our altar - such as jewelry, crystals, oracle/tarot cards, photographs, earth elements, etc.

  • The mission of Rakas Kakaw Community Cacao Circles is to:

    (1) share our appreciation for Mayan culture & ceremonial cacao;

    (2) co-create heart-centered community rooted in respect for the earth & indigenous wisdom;

    (3) nourish a culture of communal healing.

🤎 Facilitated by Rakas Kakaw Founder, Nicole Flora Cramer, a trained & experienced Cacao Guide, Yoga Teacher & Sacred Facilitator of healing circles.

Nicole has studied with Mayan elders from K'iche, Kaqchikel & Tzʼutujil lineages to deepen her understanding of ceremonial cacao & Mayan culture.
